“Miracles Happen”

St. Philip’s Vacation Church School

2019 Registration Form

Age 4 through grade 8

July 29-August 2, 2019

9:00 am - 12 noon

Come join the kids of St. Philip for a week of learning about the miracles of Jesus!  Each day will begin with an introduction to the theme for the day for all, and then we will break off into age-level groups to rotate through various stations, including Bible with Fr. Noah, Music with Kh. Elizabeth, Saint of the Day, Crafts, Snacks, and Games.

Please look over the following volunteer opportunities and let us know where you’d be able to help.

❖ Team Leader or Team Helper -- Follow a class of preschool or elementary age students through their schedule of stations. Help them to learn, participate, and stay on task while still having fun. No advance preparation required.

❖ Games Station Leader or Helper -- Lead or assist the students in a session of games each day as a large group. Game lesson plans will be provided.

❖ Saint-of-the-Day Station Leader -- Lead the lesson of the day about an Orthodox saint to each class. Lesson plans will be provided.

❖ Crafts Helper

❖ Snack Helper -- Work in the kitchen to help prepare snacks for the kids and volunteers.

❖ Snack Donations -- If you cannot make it to help with VCS in person, you can still help by donating food or drinks for the kids and volunteers. We’ll send out a sign up if you can help, and you can choose exactly what you’re able to donate.

❖ Prayers -- We would like everyone to keep the kids and volunteers in your prayers that we may have a blessed week of learning and playing together!

Any adult over age 18 who will be working directly with children will need to have volunteer clearances on file in the church office. If you need help with this, please see Kate Gohl.  Volunteers will also be required to attend a VCS training on Saturday July 13 from 9-11 am. At this time we will review the curriculum materials and responsibilities for all volunteers.

If you are able to help in any of the above capacities, please contact Kate Gohl at kategohl@gmail.com or 215-694-8169 with your preference and availability.

Thank you in advance!

PLEASE NOTE: Teachers and Helpers age 18 and over are required to submit background check documentation if this has not been done in the last five years.  Please visit http://www.st-philip.net/sundayschool.html (Resources for Teachers section) for more information.
